The VMP unit is designed to be always on, it's a high efficiency unit and does not require any additional power wires or pressure switches. We do include a 30 amp fuse to replace the stock 20 amp fuse in the underhood fuse box. We hook ours up all the time to prevent any pressure spikes that may occur when a booster is triggered in the middle of a pull by a pressure switch. In the case of 11-14 GT500, the computer is already modulating fuel pump duty cycle and only giving the car the pressure and flow it needs. For tuning, we recommending you reduce the Fuel Pump Voltage Table (under Returnless fuel pump) by 1-2 volts all over and fine tune from there by datalogging. On the 11-14 5.0L Mustang the factory single pump is modulated between high and low speeds by the computer. We recommend changing the high speed threshold in the tune (under Returnless fuel pump) from 0.80 lb\/min to 3 lb\/min (see below) on blower cars. On naturally aspirated cars this value can be raised to 4-5lb\/min for NA tunes and lowered back down to 2-3lb\/min on the nitrous tune. The last piece of the kit is our famous Lethal Performance Plug and Play dual return style harness which features (2) 40amp relays, (2) 20amp fuses, Fusible links for the power distribution box connection and our OEM 6 pin connector which plugs directly onto the 6 pin connector on the fuel hat making installation a breeze!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIf you're unfamiliar with a return style kit here's how it works.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe fuel pumps are wired to run full time. Fuel pressure is set by the mechanical fuel pressure regulator. The excess fuel bleeds off the regulator through the return line and back to the tank. In this system we use a boost reference regulator. That means that for every 1psi of boost the regulator see's it's going to mechanically raise fuel pressure by 1psi. So if you start with a base pressure of 40psi and make 20psi of boost you'll end up seeing 60psi of fuel pressure when in full boost. What's great about a return style fuel system is that it's easy to tune, doesn't use any returnless style electronics and works great for both street and track applications.
